Information we collect
When you request a lesson or contact us, we collect the details you provide — such as your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, the instrument and schedule you’re interested in, and the student’s age. When you submit our form we also record basic technical information (such as your IP address and how you reached the site) to help us respond and to prevent abuse.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- Respond to your request and schedule lessons;
- Send you lesson reminders, scheduling messages, and updates;
- Send invoices and handle billing for lessons you book;
- Improve our services and keep the site secure.
SMS text messaging
If you provide your mobile phone number and opt in, The Musical Coach may send you SMS text messages related to your lessons — including scheduling, appointment reminders, and account updates. Opting in to text messages is optional and is never a condition of booking a lesson or purchasing any service.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message; reply HELP for assistance. Opting out of SMS will not affect your ability to take lessons or reach us by phone or email.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate — for example, our email and text-message delivery providers and our payment processor — and only as needed to provide the service to you, or when required by law. As stated above, mobile information and SMS consent are never shared with third parties for their own marketing.
Data retention
We keep the information you provide for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, provide lessons, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. You may ask us to update or delete your information at any time using the contact details below.
Children’s privacy
Many of our students are minors. When a lesson is for a child, we collect information from the parent or guardian who arranges and manages the lessons. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children without a parent or guardian’s involvement.
